How it works

Panels that slide and tuck behind one another

Each panel runs on its own track. Open one like a regular slider, or push the whole run to one side and the wall is gone.

Wide viewUp to five of six panels stack behind the last one, so the clear opening is almost the full wall.
Nothing swingsThe stack stays in the plane of the wall: no leaves standing in the room or on the deck.
Your directionStack to the left, to the right, or split the run so it opens from the centre.

Configurations

Three to six panels, stacking your way

One panel stays fixed as the pocket the others slide behind. The more panels, the bigger the share of the wall that opens.

Three panels

Two slide, one fixed: two thirds of the opening clears.

Four panels

Three slide behind one: three quarters clear.

Five panels

Four slide behind one: four fifths clear.

Six panels

Split from the centre, three each way: five sixths clear, opening like a curtain.

Every run is measured at your home and built to the opening. Openings wider than a standard patio door are common; the estimator confirms the structure and the header with you.

Compare

Stackable, bi-folding or sliding: which patio door fits your opening?

Same triple-pane glass, same frames, same crews. The difference is how much of the wall opens and where the panels go when it does.

Built for a Montreal winter

A wall of glass that still holds the heat in February

Thermally broken frames and triple-pane, double Low-E glass keep the room warm along the whole run, not just in the middle. The sill drains outward so melting snow leaves the way it came.

Every panel is measured at your home and built for the opening. Our own crews install, seal and finish the interior; nothing is subcontracted.

After the install, one number reaches a service department that answers. That is the same promise as on every window we sell.

Questions

Stackable patio doors, answered

Both open most of the wall. A stackable door slides its panels behind one another on parallel tracks, so nothing projects into the room or onto the deck. A bi-folding door folds its leaves to one side, which frees the whole opening but leaves the folded stack standing at the jamb. The comparison above shows the trade-offs row by row.

Wider than a standard patio door in most homes. The right count of panels depends on the width you want and the structure above it; the estimator measures the opening and the header at your home and confirms what is possible before anything is ordered.

Yes. The first panel works like an ordinary slider for everyday use. Sliding the whole run open is for the days you want the wall gone.

The frames and triple-pane, double Low-E glass are the same as on our sliding and bi-folding doors, and the units are ENERGY STAR certified. Rénoclimat treats an eligible replacement the same way: $150 per opening, and we help with the paperwork.

It is quoted per project, because the panel count, width, frame and glass all move the price. The estimate is free, in your home, in writing, with financing options laid out.
